Our specialist engineering and construction teams bring multi-sector innovation and technical skill – from building and highways, to large-scale water networks and treatment plants.

An opportunity has arisen for a FTTP Fibre Engineer covering both Spine and Access Network, on the Openreach Fibre Cities project. Reporting into the Delivery Manager, your main responsibilities will be the installation and testing of optical fibre cables on the underground and overhead Openreach spine and access network.

What you’ll be doing day to day
  • Installing the One Fibre Network in compliance with Openreach protocols
  • Splicing all cables into AGG nodes, splitter nodes, Intermediate joints
  • Splicing all CBT’s into the relevant nodes
  • Correct splicing matrix utilising the FNC’s issued
  • Testing all SN’s as well as all ports on the CBT’s
  • Fully compliant with the One Fibre Document
  • Taking pictorial evidence and accurate submission for the Quality Control Register
  • Compliance with all Health, Safety, Quality Control & Environmental policies 

The experience we're looking for
  • Previous FTTP splicing experience on the Openreach network
  • Ideally qualified with N23, M23, A8/SA001, A9/SA002 & NRSWA  Network build understanding
  • SLD schematic/job pack/FNC understanding
  • Rod, roping & cable pulling experience
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Relevant industry related tickets
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A positive and enthusiastic approach to work
  • Good organisation skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Results orientated, whilst maintaining ability to meet strict quality standards
  • High level of customer service for both internal and external stakeholders
