We work in partnership and collaboration with our customers, to deliver major built environment and critical national infrastructure projects across the UK. Our specialist engineering and construction teams bring multi-sector innovation and technical skill – from building and highways, to large-scale water networks and treatment plants.
 
A vacancy has arisen for an electrically biased Project Engineer, working within our Non-Infrastructure Waste workstream. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will work alongside the contract delivery team to ensure the design, procurement, financial control and site activities are achieved within the water industry
 
What you’ll be doing day to day 
  • Design of water M&E assets eg. Pumping Stations, Dosing Systems, CSO's & associated structures/plant etc.
  • Equipment sizing & selection (pumps, mixers etc)
  • Early site investigation works coordination
  • Early procurement of materials
  • Attendance and input into internal and client design reviews
  • Involvement with cost to complete / budget reviews with the contract delivery teams
  • Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Involvement with preparation of subcontract orders
  • Assistance with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation works
  • Liaison with site manager and site teams to ensure work is completed to programme, budget and quality
  • Innovations to current standards
  • Managing key project constraints
  • Preparation & management of project programmes
  • Proactive approach to maintaining high standards of Health & Safety performance
   
The experience we’re looking for in a candidate 
  • An industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent
  • Proven experience within the Water Industry
  • Experience with ICA desirable but not essential
  • Commercial and contractual awareness
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Self-motivation
  • Be able to organise yourself and others workload
  • Be proactive in your approach
  • An excellent communicator
  • A high level of diplomacy and customer focused
