Work starts on the former York House site in Nottingham

19th November 2019

We are pleased to announce that we have started on site for a new ten storey, 472 student bed accommodation block for Cassidy Group next to the intu Victoria Centre in Nottingham.

The scheme will see the new development named York Place be built on the site of the former nine storey office building known as York House which was demolished four years ago and will meet the growing demand for student accommodation in Nottingham.

The new student accommodation block will provide Nottingham Trent University students with all-round convenience, excellent transport links and is only a short walk from the University.

The development consists of 472 beds, with a mix of 426 cluster beds and 46 studios and will provide students with a gym, bike store and multiple breakout areas including an outdoor courtyard area.

What they said:

Alex Newbold, land manager at the Cassidy Group, said: “Cassidy Group are pleased to be delivering the York Place project as one of a number of upcoming developments that we are bringing forward in Nottingham, building on the success of our previous developments within the city.  York Place is part of over 5,000 student beds and over 3,000 PRS apartments across England over the next two years ‘Cassidy Group’ want to deliver.

“We are very excited to be developing York Place for our clients Student Roost, part of the Brookfield Group.

Nick Banks, our operations director for the building business unit, said: “This scheme marks the start of our partnership with the client team and it will be great to deliver this prestigious landmark building in the City Centre and build upon our existing student accommodation experience.”
