nmcn’s employees are joining forces with their friends and family this week to participate in the ‘Tour de nmcn – mini challenge’ and raise vital funds for mental health charity Mind.
The virtual challenge is replacing the 500-mile trip from St Austell, Cornwall to Leeds which, due to COVID-19, has been moved to summer 2021.
Throughout this week participants will cycle a combined 2020 miles either outside, at home or at the gym.
The aim of the challenge is to raise awareness and encourage colleagues to get active to help support their mental and physical health, whilst raising money for the business’ charity partner.
nmcn’s project manager Steve Wood, who is organising the challenge, said: “The Tour de nmcn will mark the first anniversary of our charity partnership with Mind.
“Keeping active is a way to support your wellbeing, especially during these difficult times. So, despite postponing our original plans, we still wanted to challenge ourselves. We decided to stick with cycling, we’re just doing it in a slightly different way!
“The challenge is a great way for people from across all our business units and regions to come together in support of such a good cause. We chose 2020 miles as we wanted to bring a positive note to this unusual year.
“Our virtual challenge will be a great warm up for the main event next year.”
