nmcn recognised as the Water Industry Contractor of the Year

23rd May 2018

We are delighted to announce that we have received the ‘Water Industry Contractor of the Year’ award at the Water Industry Achievement Awards 2018.

The water industry relies on its contractors and supply chain partners to drive forward best practice in construction, innovative techniques and sustainability, while maintaining high health and safety and employment standards. The ‘Water Industry Contractor of the Year’ award recognises the contractor who can best demonstrate a combination of commercial success, agenda-setting innovation, environmental stewardship and workforce best practice.

What the Judges said, “NM Group scooped the award on the back of an impressive financial and operational performance in the last year. The company, which provides services to the water industry as NMCNomenca and Nomenca, achieved a 40.1% increase in turnover in 2017 and a 45% boost in profitability over the same period. It is leading the way on modular offsite construction with its Skilled Assembly in a Factory Environment (SAFE) approach, and also earned praise for its innovative work on the Elan Valley Aqueduct Scheme for Severn Trent. The company’s training and development of young people, including apprentices, and its excellent health and safety record were also contributors to it walking off with the prize”.

Group Business Development Director, Mark Hanrahan commented, “This is a fantastic achievement for NM Group, to be recognised as the very best in the UK water industry is a major credit to our people and testament to our out-performance in health and safety, innovation, offsite build, apprenticeships and profitable growth.”
