Groundwork has begun at the site of a new apartment complex located in the centre of Birmingham’s iconic Jewellery Quarter for Elevate Property Group.
Known as Assay Lofts, the new development will be situated directly across from Birmingham’s stunning St. Paul’s Square and constructed using materials in keeping with the traditional look and feel of this important conservation area. Scheduled for completion in the summer of 2019, the scheme worth £3.9M will see NM Group construct and deliver 32 one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.
With the Jewellery Quarter still responsible for 40% of all jewellery made in the UK, the area is currently experiencing a transformation, with many new creative businesses now flocking there; and bringing with it the need for modern accommodation that still continues to respect the traditional red-bricked aesthetics of the area.
Nick Banks, Operations Director at nmcn building division, said: “The successful negotiation of the Assay Lofts scheme is a great opportunity for us to develop a long-term relationship with our client Elevate Property Group. Assay Lofts, when complete, will significantly contribute to the resurgence of the Jewellery Quarter area of Birmingham. Our teams are on site and have a programme of works scheduled for the coming months to create this elegant development.”
David Hofton, Sales Director from Elevate Property Group, said: “We are delighted work has commenced on this superb scheme in which there has already been huge interest. The site is situated opposite our offices in St Pauls Square and we are watching, with great interest, developments on a daily basis”
