What tips would you give to people looking to apply for jobs at nmcn?
If you’re applying for a job with us just be yourself and don’t be tempted to over sell. For me the CV is a small part of the evaluation, as I’m much more interested in finding out what motivates the individual. With young potential employees I always look for those who have worked part-time from an early age, in pubs, supermarkets, restaurants etc, as this demonstrates a good flexible work ethic
How would you describe the culture and working environment at nmcn?
I believe our culture is quite open and flexible, with a team focused environment, whether on site or in an office
What development opportunities are there at nmcn?
I would say that development opportunities have never been so good as they are now, with the rapid expansion of the business in all areas

The company has played a major role in my long-term career development and I’ve been given multiple opportunities to grow and develop during my ten years
How did you get to your current role? How did you get to where you are today?
My role has expanded steadily over my career to date with nmcn, evolving from GM of one office to three, in line with restructuring of the South West business over the last 4 – 5 years. I started out life as an Electrical / ICA Apprentice in 1987 and gradually worked my way through various roles such as Electrician, Charge Hand, Commissioning Engineer, Electrical Designer, Principal Electrical Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Manager and finally General Manager
