nmcn (formerly NM Group’s) latest recruitment drive has made the headlines – following the announcement of more than 100 new jobs.An interview with Simon Reeve, a project manager from our Water business unit is featured in the Sun today, alongside details of roles we are recruiting for across the UK. Simon’s career progressed rapidly after he secured a place on our academy programme. Having successfully moved up the ranks he is now a project manager working on multi million-pound engineering schemes. With funding from nmcn, he is due to graduate next year with a construction management degree from Nottingham Trent University. Simon, now 27, explained: “When I learned about the type of projects I could be working on at NM Group it really sparked my interest. It’s great to have been able to learn the practical skills for the job, while underpinning it with qualifications.” Group HR Director at nmcn, Karen Morris said: “Our people are at our core and we’re committed to nurturing new talent and recruiting the best. We currently have 116 positions available across the country – ranging from entry level to senior civil engineers and construction managers. We offer apprenticeships and graduate programmes through the NM Group academy and are currently seeking 24 new apprentices.” With 12 regional offices, nmcn employs 1,600 people and operates across the construction, highways, power, telecommunication and water industries.
